Corporate signage case study for Paxton Access

Exterior building wrap, wall graphics, acrylic displays, frosted window vinyl, illuminated signs, wayfinding signs, display boards, stainless steel signs and powder-coated aluminium signs.

We proudly manufactured and installed signage for Paxton Access. Our scope of work encompassed diverse and creative elements, including wall graphics, acrylic displays, multi-faceted frosted window vinyl, and living wall signage. We also designed and installed halo-illuminated stainless-steel signage, wayfinding signs, display boards, and external powder-coated aluminium signage. The centrepiece of this project was a spectacular building wrap that transformed the exterior of the facility into a striking circuit board design.

This large project received the recognition of the UK Graphic Awards for which we received the prize for the best Roll-out 2024.

Transforming factories with dynamic corporate signage

Facing challenges with its brand image, Paxton sought to establish a compelling and cohesive identity across three factory locations. Collaborating closely with the interior design agency 20Six, we helped to bring their robust brand identity to life, that seamlessly transitioned from the exterior to the interior of their Brighton headquarters. Our designs not only met expectations but exceeded them, delivering outstanding results.

Paxton Access designs and manufactures market-leading security solutions for a wide range of buildings worldwide. Each year, around 30,000 buildings are secured with Paxton products. Their global headquarters are based in Brighton, and they export to over sixty countries worldwide. Paxton Access hired our team of highly trained signage professionals to fulfil their branding ambitions.

Corporate colours lead comprehensive wayfinding system

This corporate signage project aimed to enhance communication among staff, visitors, and clients by implementing a comprehensive wayfinding system and cohesive branded interiors. The client sought to establish a unified space across three factories, emphasising a clear and strong brand identity.

Digitally printed wallpaper and graphics

Printed graphics played a crucial role in the design of Paxton Access. From vinyl graphics and acrylic boards to digitally printed wallpaper, every detail had to be flawless to achieve the professional brand identity that Paxton desired. First impressions are crucial when entering a company building, which is why we maximised the impact of the reception area. We used digitally printed wallpaper to create the effect of a geometric design cascading down the wall. Throughout the project, we utilised a range of acrylic and vinyl materials, which were applied extensively across the building.

The project required meticulous logistical planning, as even minor measurement errors could cause the design to not fit correctly. From the initial design stages to the on-site installation by our team, we maintained a high level of detail throughout the project. This dedication resulted in an exceptionally high-quality outcome across all applications.

Professional case study displays show global reach

A central part of this project was installing a wayfinding system, and Case Study displays that provided information for both staff and clients. We utilised 10mm thick acrylic display boards, secured with barrel fixings and backed with digitally printed white vinyl. The lettering was printed in reverse onto the back of the acrylic to create a sense of depth. The result was a professional set of displays showcasing Paxton Access's case studies. We also utilised digitally printed vinyl, precisely contour-cut to showcase Paxton Access's extensive global reach.

Control system product displays

One of the project's toughest hurdles was designing and installing individual display panels to showcase the control system products. Each panel was wrapped separately and backed on a foamex board, and all had to align perfectly with each other. This proved to be the most technically demanding task of the project. However, the outcome was outstanding: all four panels aligned flawlessly across the displays, effectively highlighting Paxton Access's product offering.

Crystal etch frosting covered 250 metres of glass panels

We produced 250 running metres of printed Crystal Etch frosting, which covered glass wall panels throughout the building and has been replicated throughout the three factories. The geometric triangular design featured a range of tonal greys and greens, perfectly reflecting the company’s branding. The design's size and scale demanded meticulous attention to detail throughout its development. Factors such as seams, overlaps, and alignment with architectural features added complexity to the printing process. Thanks to our specialised printing equipment and the keen eye of our designers, the intricate geometric design seamlessly fits the glass wall panels. Privacy screens were also a crucial part of this project and in addition, we installed the crystal etch frosted pattern to 200 of them.

Exterior wrap across headquarters building

The standout feature of this project was the exterior wrap that spanned the entire facade of the Paxton Access headquarters building. The design featured a circuit board design created using Metamark M7 Grey on a white background. Though the design was simple, the results were transformative. Wall wraps are a cost-effective way to revitalise a building's facade, offering long-term benefits for both protection of the building and brand visibility. This transformation had a dramatic impact on the professional appearance of Paxton Access's headquarters. The execution was complex, requiring precise measurements and installation techniques to ensure a seamless appearance, over a number of days. In addition to the wrapping of the building, we also installed Powder Coated Aluminium letters on Brass Locators that are situated on the pinnacle of the building. These letters were featured internally across a living wall. The combination of the living wall and the aluminium signage created depth and added interest to the interior of the building.
